Biennale Arte 2026 in Venice: how to enjoy its final weeks
Venice has a particular rhythm in autumn: cooler air, softer light and exhibitions that invite you indoors. The 61st International Art Exhibition, In Minor Keys, offers one more reason to linger. It remains open until 22 November 2026, making October and November an appealing moment for an art-focused escape.
What to know about In Minor Keys
Conceived by curator Koyo Kouoh, the exhibition is presented at the Giardini and Arsenale, with projects across the city and at Forte Marghera. Rather than treating the Biennale as a list to complete, choose a few encounters that genuinely interest you. The pleasure often comes from the unexpected work you stop in front of for longer.
The official autumn hours are generally 10 am to 6 pm, with the exhibition closed on Mondays except 16 November. Opening arrangements can vary for individual pavilions, so check the official calendar before going. Tickets allow access to the main exhibition venues according to the current conditions.
A gentle way to organise the visit
Keep one main venue for each part of the day, leaving time to walk between exhibitions, pause for coffee and notice Venice beyond the installations. A second day can be devoted to smaller venues or to the Museo Fortuny, where contemporary art enters into dialogue with a historic interior.
Campo Santo Stefano is an especially pleasant base for travellers who like to balance busy exhibition hours with quiet evenings. From Bloom & Settimo Cielo, the day can end with a change of pace rather than another appointment.
At a glance: Dates: 9 May–22 November 2026 · Main venues: Giardini and Arsenale
Is one day enough for the Venice Biennale 2026?
One day gives a taste of the exhibition; two days offer a more relaxed visit to both Giardini and Arsenale. Reserve time for travel between venues and verify opening hours.
