Venice Carnival 2027: dates and a more intimate way to enjoy it
From 23 January to 9 February 2027, Venice becomes a theatrical city of masks, costumes and unexpected encounters. Carnival is famous for its spectacle, but it also rewards travellers who seek smaller moments: an artisan’s window, a quiet canal at dawn, a conversation over coffee.
What is confirmed for Carnival 2027
The official Carnival website confirms the dates from Saturday 23 January to Tuesday 9 February 2027. Individual performances, processions and ticketed events may follow separate programmes. Check the official calendar as your visit approaches, especially if you want to attend a particular event.
A mask is more than a souvenir in Venice. Visit a specialised workshop and notice how traditional techniques still shape the city’s visual identity. You do not need an elaborate costume to appreciate the history and imagination behind the festival.
A romantic Carnival without rushing
Start early for a quieter walk, enjoy the costumes as the city wakes up and leave the crowded squares whenever you feel like it. Campo Santo Stefano offers a pleasant contrast: central enough to explore, yet well suited to pauses between events.
For couples, a Carnival stay works best when there is time for a good dinner, a concert or an unplanned stroll. Bloom & Settimo Cielo is a boutique base from which to enjoy the atmosphere without filling every hour with commitments.
